Old Delhi 2 empty muscle memory takes over andPeople often question what is the difference between New Delhi and Old Delhi. It is said that pre partition of India in 1947, the original residents of Delhi who were mainly Muslim, lived in Old Delhi. New Delhi was the newer area residence created for Hindus who migrated over from Pakistan (then India) during partition. Old Delhi is still known for it's traditional flea markets , it's numerous mosques and the Red Fort, amongst other things.
