There are no large clinical trials proving that NAD+ injections reduce wrinkles, improve firmness, or rejuvenate the skin
(Clin Transl Med, 2021) in 24 older adults (aged 61-80) found that supplementation with GlyNAC (glycine 100 mg/kg/day + NAC 100 mg/kg/day, approximately 7 g each for a 70 kg person) for 16 weeks corrected glutathione deficiency and improved multiple hallmarks of aging including oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, inflammation, insulin resistance, endothelial dysfunction, body composition, exercise capacity, and cognition [10]
Great for health, but rough on industries that live off those habits
This is due to multiple factors including aging, estrogen decline, decrease in total 24-hour energy expenditure by 9 percent and spontaneous physical activity energy expenditure by 30 percent
What's particularly encouraging is the shift in mindset this represents: moving from 'treat with caution' to 'make it easier to prescribe'
