Wegovy is indicated for patients with obesity or who are overweight with at least one weight-related comorbidity, such as high blood pressure or high cholesterol.[1] Body mass index (BMI) is used to determine eligibility for Wegovy.[1] Patients with the following BMIs may be eligible: BMI of 30 kg/m2 or greater (obesity) BMI of 27 kg/m2 or greater (overweight) in the presence of at least one weight-related comorbid condition, such as hypertension, T2D, or dyslipidemia Semaglutide for type 2 diabetes Ozempic and Rybelsus both contain semaglutide and are used to help patients with T2D manage blood sugar levels.[2,3] Ozempic is a once-weekly subcutaneous injection.[2] It is used alongside diet and exercise to improve glycemic control and reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events, such as heart attack, in adults with T2D and established cardiovascular disease.[2] Ozempic is also sometimes prescribed off-label for weight management.[9] Because Ozempic delays gastric emptying, it can affect the absorption of oral medications.[1] It is important to tell your healthcare provider about any prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, or supplements you are taking
